Your Child’s Safety Is Our Priority
At Global Skills Exchange, safeguarding is fundamental to everything we do. We recognise the responsibility involved in organising international educational experiences for young people and are committed to providing safe, supportive and professionally supervised programmes.
Experienced Safeguarding Leadership
Global Skills Exchange is led by Anna Duffy, an experienced British educator and former UK senior school leader.
Our Programme Director holds:
- Level 3 Safeguarding Training, completed in the UK.
- International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC), issued by ACRO, providing criminal record screening relevant to working with children internationally.
- Extensive professional experience in British and international education, including senior school leadership.
Safeguarding-Trained and Screened Team
All current volunteers have completed UK safeguarding training and hold certificates.
All current team members have undergone Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks in the United Kingdom.
What is a DBS check?
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is a UK government service that helps organisations make safer recruitment decisions.
Depending on the level of check and the individual’s eligibility, DBS checks may disclose relevant criminal record information and whether someone is legally barred from certain work with children.
DBS screening is one part of our wider safeguarding approach, alongside training, references, professional conduct expectations and appropriate supervision.
Our Approach to Student Protection
Our safeguarding arrangements cover:
- Designated safeguarding leadership and clear reporting procedures
- Appropriate supervision throughout educational activities and residential stays
- Risk assessments for travel, accommodation and programme activities
- Student medical and emergency arrangements
- Professional boundaries and a staff code of conduct
- Safe communication with students and families
- Procedures for responding to safeguarding concerns
- Collaboration with universities, industry organisations and accommodation providers
Programme-specific supervision ratios, safeguarding contacts and emergency arrangements will be confirmed and shared with families before enrolment.
Our Commitment to Families
We believe that outstanding educational experiences must be built on trust, professionalism and care.
Every student deserves to feel safe, respected, included and supported throughout their learning journey.
